DESCRIPTION:8 October 2024\n14:45 – 15:15 CET \nPanel Discussion: Building Cloud-Native for Telco with Open Source\nKubernetes has changed\, for the better\, the way that cloud workloads and resources are managed\, introducing in practical terms intent-based deployments and declarative app lifecycle at scale\, paving the way for smoother and more reliable operations. The layer of compatibility around the Kubernetes API and the operator pattern promotes an easy reuse and combination of cloud-native components working as building blocks of larger systems\, facilitating interoperability and collaboration among different initiatives. These concepts are also gradually percolating into the Telco Sector\, where an ecosystem of open-source projects is emerging. Key representatives from these projects will discuss in this panel session on the opportunities that lie ahead for collaboration and the expected benefits for Telco Industry. \nVIEW THE SESSION \n8 October 2024\n16:45 – 17:15 CET \nPanel Discussion: Telco transformation: from telco to tech-co\nNew capabilities and technologies are turning network operators into techcos\, looking to differentiate their services and products on top of common\, standardized foundations. This panel will address some of the key talking points\, opportunities\, and challenges in this space: from network automation to AI and analytics\, from cloud infrastructure to AI/computing force infrastructure\, from IoT/private network to network slicing\, and from going cloud-native to exploring the edge. \nVIEW THE SESSION \n10 October 2024\n10:30 – 12:00 CET \nWorkshop ETSI/Sylva: From Cloud native to AI native in Telecoms\nTelecom operators have successfully transformed their 4G/5G core network from traditional proprietary hardware into generic server-based telco cloud infrastructure over the past 10 years. This transformation has been driven primarily by ETSI NFV ISG standardization activities and Linux Foundation open-source projects. With the evolution of new technologies\, such as public cloud\, AI/ML\, green and sustainability initiatives\, and computing force networks – all related to telco cloud-native infrastructure – both open-source efforts like the Sylva project and standards like ETSI NFV ISG are focusing on unified common interfaces and models. The correlation among these technologies is crucial for telco operators’ cloud infrastructure\, and they cannot evolve independently without mutual interaction.
