The Sylva Governing Board is responsible for the overall management of the Directed Fund. The governing board directs the budget; oversees all business and community matters; adopts and maintains policies, rules, and procedures; and establishes advisory bodies, committees, programs, or councils to resolve any particular matter.

Carlo currently works in the Transport and Access Innovation department of TIM. He has more than 25 years of experience on transport, IP and SDN control and, for the last five years, he has been coordinating the design and experimental evaluation of Telco Cloud Infrastructures supporting the virtualization of network functions. He participated since the beginning to the definition and implementation of the Project Sylva and he is coordinating the group of TIM contributors to Sylva.

Guillaume Nevicato, a cloud native enthusiast since 2015, has been deeply involved in the PaaS and CaaS domains. As the Product Manager of Orange Telco Cloud, he oversees the deployment of this service to host many different Network Functions across 18 Orange Affiliates in Europe and the Middle East & Africa (MEA). In addition, Guillaume is actively engaged in the Telco & Open source Ecosystem. He serves as the Co-Chair of Sylva and Advisory Board position with the Linux Foundation Europe contributing to collaborative efforts in the field.

With more than 15 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry as enterprise and solutions architect in IT and communication networks, Luis is currently acting as head of Cloud & Infrastructure within the Global technology team in Telefónica Group, in charge of defining the infrastructure hosting IT and network workloads for Telefonica Group worldwide, making use of virtualization technology in the most efficient way.
Luis holds a Master´s degree in Telecommunications and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Economics.

Philippe is a seasoned tech executive and 2021 Trailblazer award-winning CTO with over 25 years of experience in connecting technology to business, driving impactful change in both large enterprises and start-ups. Having served as CTO three times in 12 years, including for Orange Business, he is currently VP of Software Engineering for Orange. Philippe is responsible for transforming the telco to techco journey and scouting for disruptive technologies and partners. He brings advisory to CxOs and executives in their digital transformation journey, thanks to a unique 360° view of technology, culture, and innovation. Philippe is also an advisor to investment funds, a board advisor for start-ups in tech, and a thought leader in the tech ecosystem. Passionate about open source, he is a board advisor for the Linux Foundation Europe, and he advocates for technology and transformation through keynotes, his presence on social networks, and community involvement such as Tech.Rocks.

Roberto heads the Technology innovation activities in TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) addressing the new technologies adoption to improve efficiency and productivity. With over 25 years of experience in telecommunications, Roberto led projects to enhance fixed and mobile technologies. In the recent years he focused on enabling a seamless cooperation among Telco, Cloud and AI/ML technologies and he’s coordinating the activities in the TIM’s IPCEI CIS project.

Tim Irnich

Tim Irnich
Tim manages SUSE’s Telco Edge product. He has been participating in the Sylva project from the very beginning, focusing on the stack development and sustainability work in working groups 1 and 4. He is also a member of the Board of the Sylva Project’s Directed Fund at LF Europe. Tim has been active in telco related open source communities such as LF Networking, OPNFV, OpenDaylight, OpenInfra for over a decade and held positions on several committees including the LFN TAC, TSC and Board of Directors in OPNFV and OpenDaylight. Before joining SUSE in 2018, Tim worked at Ericsson, where he ran the open source and ecosystem program for Ericsson’s cloud business unit and helped found Ericsson’s open source development arm that is today known as Ericsson Software Technologies.
